Celebrating Akihito Tsukushi’s Birthday with a Special Pop-Up Shop

There is some really great news for the fans of Made in Abyss! To celebrate the birthday of the brilliant creator Akihito Tsukushi on May 5th, a special pop-up shop event is returning this year. Just like last time, this event is titled "Happy Birthday to Akihito Tsukushi! 2026 & Ozen POP UP STORE" and it is going to be held in two major cities. If you are in Kyoto, you can catch it at the TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE APIT Kyoto Shijo from April 23rd all the way to May 10th. For the folks in Tokyo, the event will take place at the Shinjuku Marui Annex on the second floor from May 2nd to May 10th.

This event is a dream come true for collectors because the venue will be packed with brand new goods. We are seeing a mix of items directly related to Tsukushi himself and some very cool merchandise featuring Ozen from the series. It’s exactly the kind of thing that reminds us why the Made in Abyss anime and manga are essential viewing for anyone who loves deep world-building and unique art styles.

Exclusive Tsukushi and Pandania Collaboration Goods

One of the biggest highlights this year is the lineup of Akihito Tsukushi's personal goods. These have been designed by Pandania, the artist who is quite famous for the "Neko Yokai" series. The collection is quite varied and includes:

  • Stuffed Animals: These cute plushies are a must-have for fans.
  • Mouse Pads: Perfectly designed for your workstation.
  • Mini Acrylic Blocks: Great for displaying on your shelf.
  • Acrylic Character Stand Mikou ver.: A full-body stand of Tsukushi himself.

Also, if you can't make it to the physical stores, don't worry too much. The Tsukushi stuffed animals will be available for order in limited quantities at the Takeshobo STORE starting from 12 pm on April 23rd. You have to be quick though, as these limited items usually fly off the shelves.

Ozen the Immovable: New Merchandise Details

For those who are fascinated by the White Whistles, Ozen’s new goods are looking absolutely fantastic. There is a lot of variety here, from clothing to small trinkets. You can find a full-print graphic T-shirt that looks very stylish, and an "acrylic pub mirror" which actually uses the cover art from Volume 3 of the manga. It is these kinds of intricate designs that show us why the Made in Abyss anime and manga are essential viewing even today.

Other interesting items featuring Ozen include:

  • Square-shaped Acrylic Bromide: Featuring a memorable scene with Lord Fudo.
  • Kyou Fudo Badge: These are trading specifications, so there’s a bit of a surprise element.
  • Nfufufu...Axta: An acrylic stand using an original illustration of Ozen.
  • Marriage Announcement Scene Block: An acrylic block showing the scene where Liza announces her marriage.

Fan Favorites: Rico, Reg, and Maruluk

The shop hasn't forgotten about the main trio and their friends at the Seeker Camp. There is a "Rico, Reg, and Maruluk Kyakyak Clear File" which is basically a collection of scenes where they are all having a bit of fun together. It’s quite heart-warming to see. For those who love the lore, there is a sticker sheet themed after the surveillance base itself.

Finally, there is one item that might make you a bit emotional—the "Maruluk's tearful handkerchief." It features the scene where Maruluk is crying because he is feeling lonely while saying goodbye to Rico and Reg. It’s a very touching piece of merchandise for any true fan of the series.

So, whether you are after a complete box of "Fudokyo Can Badges" or just want to celebrate Tsukushi's birthday, this pop-up shop is the place to be. Make sure you visit if you are in Tokyo or Kyoto during those dates!
