The Latest Ghost in the Shell Anime Airs to Positive Response
The anime "Ghost in the Shell" was aired on July 7, 2026 (Tuesday), and amidst the great response to the first broadcast, voice actor Akio Otsuka, who played the role of Batou in previous series, also praised the series, making it a hot topic of conversation.

"Ghost in the Shell" is a cyberpunk action movie based on the science fiction manga that manga artist Shirow Masamune began serializing in Kodansha's "Young Magazine Pirated Edition" in 1989. The film depicts how the aggressive unit "Ghost in the Shell", led by Major Motoko Kusanagi, a full-body prosthetic body (cyborg) with excellent abilities in cyber warfare and combat, confronts increasingly complex and violent crimes.

Along with realistic and precise drawings, the series explores cyberpunk elements and philosophical themes while deeply considering the fusion of humans and technology and personal identity. The latest TV anime series "Ghost in the Shell" will begin broadcasting on Kantele/Fuji TV's nationwide network every Tuesday from 11:00 pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in the "Tuesday Anniversary!!" slot.
Akio Otsuka, a voice actor who has provided the voice of Batou in previous Ghost in the Shell series, posted a comment on his X about the first broadcast. "[Ghost in the Shell] is a great success! Applause to the staff and cast!" he posted his praise.
