The first volume of Sayuko Makoto's ``The Witch of the Dawn'' was released today, April 11th.
Sorey was picked up by the "Witch of Dawn" Guinrose when he was a child. He looked up to Guinrose, who saved him from dying and taught him magic, as his master, and dreamed of one day becoming a magician like her. However, Guinrose was attacked by unknown witches and died. Sorey manages to escape and vows revenge. At that moment, a girl named Giselle Gate appears from the stone "Witch's Heart" entrusted to her by Guinrose and offers to help her take revenge... The work is being serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan (Square Enix). A dark fantasy story about Sorey's journey to seek revenge against the 13 witches in the world.
To commemorate the release of Volume 1, Animate will be distributing mini colored paper, Gamers will be distributing bromides, Melon Books will be distributing illustrated cards, and Maruzen Junkudo Bookstore will be distributing illustrated paper. Illustration data is included in the electronic version sold at some e-book stores.
