The Ninth Jedi Saga Continues
The wait is almost over for Star Wars fans, as the highly anticipated series Star Wars: Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 5, 2026. This new series picks up where the fan-favorite shorts 'The Ninth Jedi' and 'The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope' left off, following Lah Kara's journey as she trains in the ways of the Jedi under Margrave Juro.Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of this new series, which promises to deliver action-packed adventure and epic storytelling. The series will explore Lah Kara's quest to save her father and stop a mysterious Sith leader from unleashing darkness upon the galaxy.
Behind the Scenes of Visions Presents
In a recent interview, Star Wars: Visions executive producer James Waugh discussed the creative freedom afforded by the series' nature as an open anthology. 'Well honestly, I think the nice thing about Visions is that we're not trying to make this part of the ongoing canonical narrative,' Waugh explained. 'Some of these stories fit perfectly within canon. I mean that's the thing, we're not saying don't do that.'
Waugh also expressed his openness to bringing in elements from the expanded universe into Visions, stating, 'I'm open to bringing in things from the expanded universe into Visions because it meant something to that person from that cultural perspective... But I'm less worried about something directly contradicting something in this space, if the story warrants it within the unique expression of Star Wars: Visions.'
The new series, Star Wars: Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi, will be the first entry in the Visions Presents banner, which promises to deliver longer-form franchise narratives. With its premiere on August 5, 2026, fans can expect an epic journey that will take them to new heights in the Star Wars universe.
