New Cast and Staff Details Revealed for "World is Dancing" Anime

Exciting news for anime fans! The additional cast, staff members, and a fresh teaser PV for the upcoming anime World is Dancing have finally been released. This series is based on the original work by Kazuto Mihara and is already creating quite a buzz. For those who enjoy historical settings mixed with performance arts, this project is definitely something to look out for.

From the TV anime “World is Dancing” teaser PV, we get a glimpse of the beautiful production quality. The story is set deep in the Muromachi period and follows the journey of Oniyasha, a very handsome boy who would eventually be known as the legendary Zeami. It’s a fascinating take on history and art coming together. Many people are already saying why The World is Dancing is a must-watch series because of how it explores these traditional performance roots.

A Stellar Voice Cast Joins the Production

The newly announced cast members are quite impressive and they bring a lot of experience to the table. Here is the list of new additions who will be joining the show:

  • Kaminha Tsuchiya as Ishiya: A member of Kanzeza who deeply understands Oniyasha.
  • Maaya Uchida as Kogane: A close friend of Oniyasha.
  • Rumi Paku as Masujiro: A young entertainer leading Dengaku Niiza with a very strict eye on our protagonist.
  • Katsuyuki Konishi as Kan'ami: The head of Kanze-za and the father of Oniyasha.
  • Haruki Ishitani as Jujigoro: A young drummer apprentice and member of Kanze-za.

The voice actors including Tsuchiya, Uchida, Park, and Konishi have shared their positive comments regarding the project. Their involvement really adds more weight to the emotional depth we can expect from the characters.

Expert Supervision and High-End Choreography

What makes this anime even more special is the technical expertise behind the scenes. The production has roped in Reijiro Tsumura, a renowned Noh performer, to serve as a supervisor for the Sarugaku, Dengaku, and Noh plays depicted in the series. This ensures that the traditional dances are represented as accurately as possible. To add to that, Kaiji Moriyama, who was the director for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic opening ceremony, will be handling the choreography. This is huge because it means the movement in the anime will be top-notch.

The original author, Kazuto Mihara, also sent in some congratulatory comments along with special illustrations of the main characters to celebrate this update. You can clearly see the passion the team has for this adaptation.

Teaser PV and Broadcast Schedule

The new PV starts on a very heavy note with Oniyasha saying, "People die whether they dance or not." It shows the various characters one after another, especially focusing on the tense relationship between Oniyasha and his father, Kan'ami. There is a line where he says, "I hate dance, I hate my father," which hints at the internal struggle and growth the character will go through. Honestly, looking at the trailer, it is easy to understand why The World is Dancing is a must-watch for any serious anime fan.

The official broadcast is scheduled to start in July 2026 on channels like TOKYO MX and BS Asahi. Cygames Pictures is handling the animation production, with Toshimasa Kuroyanagi as the director. Yumiri Hanamori will be voicing the lead role of Oniyasha. We really can't wait for this one to air!
